Darjeeling Animal Shelter - June 2023
The sister Shelter – Darjeeling Animal Shelter has conducted fourty five ABCs on dogs in the month of June and with over twenty-four rescues of street and community dogs including puppies. Four puppies that were rescued have already been adopted and the other seven are waiting to find a loving home.

Darjeeling Animal Shelter has been conducting its life-saving programmes diligently. From attending rescue calls to carrying out operations that take time and effort, the team has always left no stone unturned in achieving its target.

Darjeeling Animal Shelter - April 2023
The Darjeeling Animal Shelter team has carried out fourty three rescues this month. Several puppies have been rescued including sick and wounded adult dogs. All these puppies that come as rescues are later put up for adoption by the Shelter team.

With over fifty-eight rescues of small animals and seventy-eight Animal Birth Control Programme on street dogs and twenty-six Anti Rabies Vaccination besides two seventy-eight clinical cases, March has indeed been a very busy month.

The 24 kennels DAS has are always full. The number of rescue calls that are attended by the DAS team and Vet is more than that of the sister Shelter – Kalimpong Animal Shelter. The team is always at the beck and call to help animals.

Darjeeling Animal Shelter - January 2023
The Dogs Trust Worldwide project on ‘mass vaccination against rabies ‘in 23 wards has been successful. The DAS team has worked hard going door to door early morning in every ward of Darjeeling and vaccinating dogs.

The sister Shelter has been carrying out tremendous rescue work as always. Rescue and the Dogs’ Trust project of vaccinating and spaying dogs keep them very busy.

Darjeeling Animal Shelter - November 2022
The Darjeeling Animal Shelter has been vaccinating dogs ward–wise. The vaccination camp is for the street and community dogs in Darjeeling and this is the follow–up Programme that is conducted every year by the DAS team.

Darjeeling Animal Shelter - October 2022
Two puppies have been adopted by the same family from Darjeeling. The puppies were dewormed and vaccinated against viral disease while they were living in the Shelter.

Darjeeling Animal Shelter - June 2022
The Animal Shelter has successfully completed the Dog’s Trust (DTW) Project on Animal Birth Control. Dr. Mihir has done tremendous work in carrying out the ABC project for a year funded by DTW and has been successful in reaching the target of sterilising 500 dogs in one year.

Darjeeling Animal Shelter - May 2022
An Animal Birth Control camp was conducted on the 11th of April, 22 at Mungpoo, Darjeeling. An immediate camp was conducted there after a few complaints where the young boys were found abusing dogs.

In all, 2520 animal were presented at the shelter for veterinary treatment and vaccinations.

Dr. Sameer Chhetri has compiled a list of the camps carried out this year. Many remote villages and tea gardens have been visited. They include Shanti Parvat, Singhamari, Tungsung, Rangbam Busty, Sukhiapokhari, Mungerjun Tea
Estate, Dalli, Sungam Bazaar, and many others. -
Darjeeling Animal Shelter - Annual Report 1 April 2012 to 31 March 2013
1831 animals were brought to the shelter by their owners, desperate for help for their pets. When the boys were out in the ambulance, during the year another 649 animals were handed to them, or were rescued.
